Writing has always been an indispensable part of my life. It’s encompassed everything from creative writing to scientific research publications to a guidebook on historic house museums. But poetry is what has stayed with me through thick and thin.

Memory and meaning form the territory I return to most often in my own work. Every life is its own universe: a constant interplay of past and present, loss and renewal. And every poem expresses one unique facet of our multitude of stories.

Poetry is, paradoxically, a way to know ourselves more deeply while also being the literary version of walking in someone else’s shoes. That’s what I love most about it.
